Provincial Highway No. 8 has always been a firm favorite among cyclists. The annual Taiwan KOM Challenge begins from Qixingtan all the way up to Wuling on Mt. Hehuan at an elevation of 3,275m. French Le Cycle magazine has listed the race as among the 10 most difficult and 50 most spectacular cycling routes in the world. Along the way are endless breathtaking views; besides the grand cliffs, gorges, there are also over 30 trails in Taroko, allowing the visitors to enjoy Taroko’s unique seasonal landscapes via walking, cycling, or riding in a car.
