The STARBUCKS store in Huilan, Hualien, designed by Japanese architect Kengo Kuma is Asia’s only container STARBUCKS store. Cargo containers are stacked as the main structure, which symbolizes the imagery of a big tree with horizontal branches. Those selected cargo containers from 20 different ports of the world infer the concepts of recycling and rebirth.
