“Small but complete” can best describe the Fuxing Trail in Ruisui Township, Hualien County. It is only 670 m long. Yet, the short distance contains big surprises, making it a worthwhile trip for the tourists coming here.Fuxing Trail is about 320 meters above sea level and in a low altitude mountain area. The trail goes through bamboo and acacia confusa forests. Among them, Makino Bamboo forest is the largest. Walking out of the green corridor, you have reached the highest point. Although you can’t get a full view of the East Rift from here, you can still get a glimpse of it from the gap.The miniature trail is a remnant of the Minnan immigrant in early years. It represents the needs of the residents, who made a large plantation of bamboo forests and fruit trees. But after the Han Chinese moved away, the area was deserted. Through the efforts of the Fu Hsing Community Development Association, the Forestry Bureau renovated the site in 2008 and planned it as a flat hiking trail with greenery, making it very suitable for families and children.
