Xietian Temple was the first temple established in Hualien. It is also known as Guan Di Temple. The traditional Chinese building at the entry features two pseudo-classic stone lions in the shape of guardian lions. They stand at both sides of the entrance and look extremely powerful and vivid. During the renovation of the Xietian Temple, the gold foil was on the top of the central gate. Standing as the first dragon pillars of the temple, the stone pillars on the two sides are already around a century old.In addition, you can see a laundry pavilion close by, which is a feature already extinct in the city.
