Hualien Bay Happy Farm is a mini zoo family attraction that covers an area of 45 hectares; it has no shelter, so remember to bring something to protect yourself from the sun or to use sunscreen. The garden is full of flowers, and when the flowering season comes, it is incredibly beautiful. The park is currently open all day, and admission is free. As soon as you enter the park, you can see the marble carvings of the aboriginal symbols and the Hualien stone sculptures everywhere, providing an artistic atmosphere. The noteworthy feature of Hualien Bay Happy Farm is that friendly pet animals can be found everywhere. Also, a horse-riding experience is available with an extra charge. Visitors can interact with the deer through the wooden fence by feeding them; animal food can be purchased at the stable. It will take a half-day to enjoy a walk around this farm. Hualien Bay Happy Farm faces the Pacific Ocean that makes it an excellent site for sunrise and sunset viewing. The park also features an east coast bicycle path, where you can ride bicycles against the wind while surrounded by the sea and sky. The farm is located at the estuary of the river, and the sandbar is a rich ecosystem. Walking toward the shore, you can take a look at intertidal creatures and water birds, thus making it a healing spot. There is a farm and a horse farm in the park. Organic crops are cultivated on the farm, and there are also lovely animal areas and ecological fishponds, where deer, peacocks, and roosters are kept. In the ecological pond, there are green-headed ducks and swans swimming around. Childern often enjoy following ducks in the open space.
