Hualien Environmental Park is located in the Qixingtan south coast, nearby Chilaibi Lighthouse. The Park is governance by Hualien City Office. It was used to be a smelly landfill which has been transformed to Environmental Park since 1996. There is an introduction about the transformation journey on the standing sign, including planting various plants to restore local environment. 

The Hualien Environmental Park, which is adjacent to the "Qilaibi Lighthouse", is located at the tip of the nose protruding from the coast. It has a wide view and is also the best place to view the Qilaibi Lighthouse. The Taroko National Park and Central Mountain Range in the distance are even more magnificent, so you might as well try your panoramic camera here. Although the surrounding environment looks a little barren, it is actually a private attraction in Hualien City where you can enjoy the blue sea and blue sky. It is not disturbed by a large number of tourists and attracts many experienced surfers to come and enjoy the tranquility and comfort of Hualien. If combined with a holistic guided tour, the public can better understand the importance and achievements of the current environmental protection and pollution prevention work.
