Chilaibi Lighthouse was built in 1931. It is located in the north end of Hualien port. It was built in square originally. Yet it was destroyed by US military in World War II. It was restored nearby in pentagon shape when Hualien port was open as international port in 1963. This is the only lighthouse made by concrete and rebar in pentagon shape. It is not open for public. There is a trail nearby to the lookout deck where you can have similar view as in Chilaibi Lighthouse. You can also go to Hualien Environmental Park to see Chilaibi Lighthouse.
