Due to the lack of ores in the Tso-ts’ang Mine Area, Taiwan Cement Corporation gave up on exploiting the mineral mining and returned it to the Forestry Bureau. After the exploitation stopped, Shapodang Mountain was restored. Thus, the Forestry Bureau started planning the current trail in 2003 and reduced the damage to the environment so that the tourists can still see the natural environment when entering the Trail.Shapodang Mountain, where the Sakura Trail is situated, is located east of Central Mountain Range. The 495m-high mountain has the oldest strata in Taiwan. From the lookout platform on top of Sakura Trail, you can see the water and sky merge into one. The poetic and picturesque scene is soothing and pleasing. The moderate Tso Tsang Waterfall is about three stories high. Underneath the Waterfall, there is a rock platform where you can enjoy the natural spa and relax. Or you can absorb the negative ions next to the waterfall to relax your mind and body.
