Shoufeng Township
The starting point of the Shoufen Township Encircling Bike Path is under the Muguaxi Bridge. It connects to Provincial Highway No. 9, passes Pinghe Village, and leads to Shoufeng Township. Rural landscapes surround the path. Before it reaches Xikou Village, there is a forest, a plantation of incense cedar, one of the five Taiwan endemic coniferous species. Unlike the bushes distributed almost everywhere in this area, coniferous trees are well-formed, cone-bearing, lush, and elegant. After passing through Xikou Village on Provincial Highway No.9, there’s a broader view of endless fields and farms. In summer, the rice crops are swinging in the wind; after harvest, the lands become fields of blooming flowers. Afterward, the trail passes the Japanese Fengtian Bilian Temple and Japanese Toyota Immigrant Village; Torii and remnants of the shrine are easily visible. The path leads visitors through Hualien’s ancient rural villages in retrospect.
The total length of the trail is about 26 km.
