Many Hakka people from Taoyuan, Hsinchu, and Miaoli relocated here to plant tobacco since the Japanese occupation period. Fast forward to today, Jian has become the most populated Hakka township in Hualien. The Hakka cultural park inspired by the imagery of Hakka Tung blossoms consists of two pavilions introducing the history of the Yoshino Village and Hakka culture, as well as a century-old camphor tree, the Yoshino Shrine monument, and Yoshino Village opening monument, bearing witness to history.
