Beikou Marker is better known as the East Coast Scenic Area. 

On the way from downtown Hualien to the Coastal Highway, after passing the Hualien Bridge, the main Channel linking the East Coast and the East Rift Valley, turn left and go straight for a short distance, you will see prominent signs, one is the East Coast National Scenic Area and its English version. Beikou Marker sign is a symbolic landmark, a mini open space where visitors, especially cyclists and motorcyclists, can park temporarily, for a break.
