Because of frequent traffic problems on the narrow roads, the Park administration had two new tunnels and a bridge built to accommodate motorists. In addition, the old road by Swallow Grotto was converted into a one-way car lane with a pedestrian lane on the side as well. After construction is completed, the route will extend to the Zhuilui Cliffs, offering more vantage points of the beautiful gorge.

Yanzikou was shaped over thousands of years by the Liwu River, resulting in masterpieces such as Indian Chieftain Rock. On the limestone cliffs, there are many potholes, not swallow nests or carved by swallows, but eroded by groundwater and the Liwu River. Swallows spend their time foraging and playing around the potholes, hence Swallow’s Grotto Trail’s name.
