Saoba Ruin is an archaeological site in Taiwan. The site is located southwest of the confluence of Xiuguluan River and Hongye River in the East Rift Valley. It is also situated to the north of Wuhe Terrace. The Terrace stands in the middle of the valley, looking over the Xiuguluan River. The views here are great, and the scenery is pleasant.Saoba Ruin includes two monoliths standing right next to each other at 5.75 m and 3.99m, respectively. These monoliths appeared around 3,000 years ago, the only prehistoric megalithic monument in Taiwan. Therefore, the Ministry of the Interior has designated the Ruin as a third-class historical site. Nevertheless, the Ruin is an essential representation of prehistoric megalithic civilization and stirs the many emotions of people from different places throughout history. Here, you can overlook the Xiuguluan River and Central Mountain Range.The mysterious Saoba Ruin combined with the Amis legends makes the attraction even more arresting. In addition, the site serves as an excellent place for tourists to stop for a rest.
