Henan Temple is located on Provincial Highway 11 in Yanliao Village, Shofeng Township, Hualien County. A 15m-tall statue of Blessing Avalokitesvara is enshrined at the temple’s highest point. Henan Temple carries a humble architectural style with plain color and decorations. Alongside with the suture reading voice, the place is like a true pure land.
The temple disseminate Buddhism with “Buddhism Art Multimedia” integrating Buddhism, literature, music, arts, voiceover, photography, and IT to interpret difficult-to-understand Buddhist doctrines through images and sounds, making the temple the leader of modern regious art.
The two gers seating on the ramp on the left of the main entrance are presents from Mongolia. They were named the “Great Sky Heaven” designed according to the standards of the ger used by Genghis Khan. The thick fell around the gers is up to 300kg and made with the wool from about 150 lamps. It is a rare exotic scene in Taiwan. The “Moonlight Stone” is a 10,000-year-old stalactite sitting silently in the garden on the right of the main entrance. The stalactite is up to 7m tall and 16MT in weight for visitors to see the magical power of nature. The temple also holds events regularly, including the Buddhist Art Festival, Lantern Festival Exhibition, composition contest, Southern Buddhism Art College Camp or Children’s Camp for visitors to earn spiritual gains while sightseeing.
