Ruisui Township can be found in central south Hualien County, Taiwan, where the Tropic of Cancer passes through its territories. Formerly known as Shuiwei, meaning the end of the Xiuguluan River, the Japanese people changed Mizuo, the Japanese name of Shuiwei, to Mizuho, which is pronounced similar to Ruisui. The township is famed for the Xiuguluan River white river rafting experience. The main agricultural products of Ruisui are Tianhe Tea and pomelo, both well-known products. Although the Hongye Hot Spring and Ruisui Hot Spring are located in Wanrong Township, these popular hot spring destinations are actually closer to Ruisui Township.
