Fengbin Township MapFengbin Township is the most traditional cultural village of the Amis people, and it was registered as a cultural heritage of Hualien County in 2014. In particular, the township’s two largest villages are Fakon and Makota’ay. During the Japanese occupation period, it was known as Xinshe Village, but it was later changed to Fengbin Township because its name is identical to the Xinshe Township in Taichung County. There are five villages in the township’s administrative district, namely Jiqi Village, Xinshe Village, Fengbin Village, Gangkou Village, and Ca’wi Village. Fengbin Township Office is located in Fengbin Village, which was formerly known as Fakon. Nestled between the coastal mountain range and the Pacific, the township offers picturesque scenery and majestic landscapes. Traditionally, the township’s main economic activities consist of agriculture and fisheries, but the focus has shifted towards tourism development in recent years.
