Organic farming is more than just a cultivation method - it’s a lifestyle rooted in responsibility toward the land, health, and the future. Nestled in Songpu, Yuli, Hualien, Muchonfarm has quietly been cultivating this philosophy since 2004, striving to do better for both people and the land.

Kindred Spirits, Shared GoalsSustainability as a Mission

Muchonfarm was born from a shared vision among a group of friends in trade: a post-retirement plan centered on healthy living. They chose Yuli for its pure, natural environment, and as amateur farmers, they never treated abundance as a mandate; instead, they embraced quiet persistence. From sourcing fresh ingredients and making their own soybean pomace as fertilizer to open-air cultivation under the sun, they steadfastly refuse to use pesticides.

Organic farming is demanding - without the use of chemical fertilizers or pesticides, every step is more challenging than in conventional methods. Soil health, stable climate, pest management, and crop rotation all require careful attention. Extreme weather or sudden pest outbreaks can sharply reduce yields. Yet these setbacks haven’t deterred Muchonfarm, because organic cultivation is not just a responsibility - it’s a commitment to sustainable development for the future.

Rare Organic Pineapples Across TaiwanA Self-Sustaining Mini-Ecosystem

Organic pineapples are labor-intensive, making their production scarce across Taiwan. Unpredictable weather and fast-growing weeds require hands-on care for each plant. Heavy rains, typhoons, or visits from wild boars can wipe out half a harvest.

Muchonfarm goes beyond pineapples. The farm raises free-range hens that produce chemical-free eggs and has recently begun cultivating organic small-fruit bitter tea seeds. Situated on volcanic ash soil along the eastern slopes of the Coastal Range, the land is rich in unique trace minerals, ideal for bitter tea trees. Their meticulously processed organic small-fruit bitter tea seed oil offers a distinct grassy and floral aroma. With rice, pineapples, dragon fruit, tea, and more, Muchonfarm has created a self-contained organic ecosystem. Visitors can purchase products directly from the farm or at local outlets like Tanhou and Simple Mart, continuing the philosophy of living in harmony with land and nature.
